Ask a question about offshore bonds
Send the question you are researching, the page it came from if there was one, and the countries involved if they matter to the answer. We read every message ourselves and reply by email. A first message can be short and general; it commits neither of us to anything, and nothing we send back is personal advice.

What helps us answer well
A few lines are enough
Most questions we receive fall into one of these, and a sentence on each is all we need to start.
- Whether an offshore bond makes sense for a portfolio of roughly this size and this mix of income and growth.
- What a particular feature means for you: the 5% allowance, top slicing relief, segments, a gift to children, a trust.
- A figure from one of our calculators that you want to understand or challenge.
- Arriving in or leaving the UK with a policy already in place.
- A question from an adviser, trustee or family office about a client, without identifying the client.
Your details are handled in confidence, as the privacy policy sets out.
What happens next
Three steps, no sales call
01
We read it
Every message is read by a person, not a system. If something is missing that we need in order to answer, we ask.
02
We reply by email
The reply sets out what UK law says on your question, with the statute or HMRC manual paragraph it rests on, and points you to the page on this site that goes deeper.
03
A conversation, if it helps
Where a question needs more than an email, we suggest a time to talk. There is no obligation at any stage, and we will say plainly if an offshore bond does not fit.
If you would rather not use the form, write to [email protected]. Please keep account numbers, passports and policy documents out of a first message; if they are needed later, we will say how to send them.
Common questions
About asking us
Is this personal advice?
No. PPLI.com is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and does not give personal tax, legal, investment or insurance advice. We explain how UK law treats offshore bonds and point you to the primary sources, so that the conversation with your own adviser starts from the right place.
Do you sell policies?
We are not an insurer and do not issue policies. Where a family wants to go further, we explain which kinds of insurer and adviser are worth speaking to, and what to ask them.
Who reads my message?
Eldar Edmond Grady and the research team at PPLI.com, and nobody else unless you ask us to make an introduction. The privacy policy sets out how messages are held.
What if I am an adviser asking about a client?
Ask in general terms and leave the client unnamed. We answer technical questions from advisers, trustees, solicitors and family offices in the same way as questions from families, with the sources cited.
PPLI.com is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and does not give personal advice. This is general information about UK law, not an invitation or inducement to enter into any insurance or investment contract. Policies issued by insurers outside the UK are not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
Answers cite the statute, HMRC manual paragraph or regulator page they rest on, so you can read each statement beside its basis.
