Money laundering: FINMA concludes final proceedings connected with Venezuela (breaches 2012 to 2020)
FINMA found that CBH breached its AML obligations between 2012 and 2020 and did not adequately document and clarify higher-risk business connected with Venezuela. It ordered termination of all remaining Venezuelan client relationships and a review of other particularly risky relationships; FINMA noted CBH cooperated and had begun remediation. The release covers both CBH and Banca Zarattini & Co. SA; the findings are separate.
The measures imposed on CBH Bank include the termination of all remaining business relationships with Venezuelan clients.
Exit of remaining Venezuelan clients; review of high-risk relationships; FINMA to verify implementation.
