This is our editorial assessment of LGT Private Banking (Singapore). We look at the areas below, which matter to a family deciding where to keep its assets, and weigh them together with what clients tell us and the service they get. Retail products, branches and apps play no part. The public sources we used are listed at the foot of the page.

The breadth of private banking services the bank publishes for this booking unit, including work with external managers and family offices.

Cost transparency

Whether a prospective client can see the tariff and the bank's policy on third party payments before asking.

Ownership and control

Composition penalty for AML/CFT breaches found in examinations after the 2023 money laundering case

MAS imposed a S$1 million composition penalty on LGT Bank (Singapore) Ltd., one of nine FIs penalised after examinations from early 2023 to early 2025. MAS named it among FIs that failed to follow up on source of wealth discrepancies and to adequately review transactions flagged by their own systems; it was not named for customer risk assessment or post-STR failures.

Eight FIs (BJBS, Citi, CSSB, LGTS, UOB, UOBKH, TTCSPL, UBSS) failed to adequately review
