1998: The Spark in Geneva A group of legal advisors, private bankers, and insurers met in Switzerland to explore a tool that could offer the legality of insurance, the flexibility of investment funds, and the confidentiality of trusts — all under one structure. The result was the first draft of what became known as Private Placement Life Insurance. 2002–2010: Building the Framework We collaborated with regulators in: ● Luxembourg – to define the “dedicated fund” model ● Delaware – to shape the U.S. tax-deferred wrapper ● Singapore – to align with emerging family office rules During this period, PPLI.com: ● Published the first multilingual guide to PPLI ● Created the global provider registry, still used today ● Designed case studies for Harvard, INSEAD, and Geneva University
